Deliverance at Taco Bell

"Hey there, boy. That's a nice looking goatee you got thar."

So it wasn't quite like that, but having Taco Bell Dude complimenting me on my look was a little odd. The best phrases were: "That's like a furry diamond." and "They don't let us grow those here."

Furry Diamond?!?! Yikes.

Car show details

Time for more details on the car show. Andrew and I headed up there, and it took 2 hours to go 4 miles - that was a blast. Of course, once all the morons stopped cutting into traffic, it got better.

There was quite a bit of neat stuff, in no particular order:
  • The Chevy Camaro concept: Just. Damn. Cool. 'Nuff said.
  • Side by side comparisons of the G35 Coupe, Sedan and 350Z. I think I am finally alright with the coupe now, although it is really a tough call. I've come to realize that the sport and aero packages might be unusable in Ohio.
  • The Dodge Challenger looks VERY 70's, but the back end styling is TOO retro. This needs some work, but I could see my Dad digging this car, especially with the 5.7L Hemi V8.
  • They had a BAR inside the IX Center. A real bar. With alcohol. And TV's. Huh?!?!?!
  • The Saleen modded Mustangs and C6 Corvette were not too bad at all. Neither was the Corvette Z06, though it was $75,000.
  • The usual props to Aston Martin for looking sweet and being in a roped off area with security.
  • The Mercedes/McLaren SLR was there, and looked VERY Batmobile-ish, especially with the hood flipped forward. Of course, it goes for $465,000.
  • The Army had an APC there, with a remotely-operated gun and camera turret. I'd bet this can laser-designate targets for smart bombs as well. Oh, and did I mention the 1 inch thick armor plates?
  • The Infiniti car girl was hot, had nice perfume, and was a great view.
  • The Hyundai Azera actually looked pretty cool. They've come a long way.
  • I apparently missed the Porsche GT3 altogether, though Mike assures me it is expensive as hell, and is apparently 1 foot tall.
  • Pop costs $3.00 a glass. Note to self: buy stock in Coca Cola.
  • The Saturn Aura looks to be very cool and has a Cadillac CTS V8 engine in it. And possibly the best car interior at the show. Really.
  • The Saturn Skye and the Pontiac Solstice look pretty cool.
Whew! That's a lot of stuff!

Cleveland Auto Show

Just got back from my trip to the auto show, but it's late as all hell, so I'll post details tomorrow.
